The chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Alhaji Abdullahi Mukhar Mohammed said some states have requested for extra hajj seats after exhausting theirs following the harvest boom by farmers.

Mohammed, who said this during a meeting with the executive secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) Rev Tor Uja in Abuja, said NAHCON was under pressure to get more seats for such states.

He said “Agriculture is now providing money for people to go for pilgrimage, in Niger state, they are requesting for 2000 extra seats after exhausting their initial 2000, while Kebbi is requesting for extra seats after exhausting their 4000 seats.”

Earlier, Rev Uja said a partnership between NCPC and NAHCON will help Nigerians.
