Spanish striker Alvaro Morata has opened up about his recent divorce from his wife, Alice Campello, the mother of his four children.
The 31-year-old revealed that his summer move from Atletico Madrid to AC Milan played a significant role in the breakdown of their marriage.
Amidst widespread media speculation, Morata firmly denied any allegations of infidelity, calling the rumours false.
He emphasized that despite their separation, Alice Campello remains an important figure in his life, stating, “The rumors of infidelity are false. I was never unfaithful to her; she is the most important woman in my life.”

Morata and Campello first met during his initial stint in Italy with Juventus, and they were married in 2017. The couple has four children together.
A few days after helping Spain win the Euro 2024, Morata made the decision to return to Italy in a €13 million transfer to AC Milan. This move, however, put additional strain on their relationship, especially since Campello is Italian and the relocation was particularly challenging.
Morata explained that the decision to end their marriage was mutual and stemmed from the stress of yet another move, rather than any personal conflicts.
Speaking to TVE reporters, Morata said, “I am very clear, the relationship is over. We have a great relationship for the well-being of our four children, although there is no turning back. We were both clear that we preferred to end the relationship and start from there. Alice wanted to stay in Spain and didn’t want another move.”
Despite his ex-wife’s reservations about a move to Milan, Morata has settled in well with his new side, scoring in the Rossoneri’s first game of the 204/25 Serie A season in a 2-2 draw with Torino.
