The National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief George Moghalu, has declared his intention to contest for the party’s ticket for the November governorship election in Anambra State.
Chief Moghalu who fielded questions from journalists in Abuja, said as a man of the people, he had the capacity, credibility and character to defeat any of the APC governorship aspirants at the primary election.
He also voiced his belief that Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State could be defeated because the incumbency factor had been demystified in Nigeria.
He said: “I don’t think we should be talking about incumbency anymore because it has been sufficiently demystified. In Ekiti, an incumbent governor lost the election. In Ondo, an incumbent governor lost the election. In Nigeria, an incumbent president lost the election. So, the issue of incumbency has been demystified. So, why wouldn’t Anambra incumbent lose the election?” he rhetorically asked.
