A mobile court sitting at the Eagle Square, Abuja, has ordered that Missouri Hotel, Maitama, be sealed for operating a nightclub within curfew hours in contravention of COVID-19 regulations.

The court presided over by Magistrate Idayat Akanni, on Monday, ordered that the hotel be shut for a week.

The court also sentenced 11 violators of the COVID-19 regulations and they were ordered to do three days community service and pay fine of N5,000 each.

Six of the defaulters are members of staff of the hotel and the other five were arrested for partaking in the social gathering.

The Chairman of the FCT Ministerial Task Force on COVID-19, Ikharo Attah, who led his team to enforce the seal up order, said the arrests followed receipt of complaints from residents of the area.
