Mobaby, Access Bank to distribute 3000 birthing kits to northern women

 

To mark the International Women’s Month, with motherhood at its centre, mother and child care brand, Mobaby Care Nigeria, in partnership with Access Bank through its Project Uwar campaign, has distributed 3000 birthing kits across Abuja, Kano, and Nasarawa states.

The project, which kicked off on the 23rd of March will run through to the 31th, to sensitise 3000 pregnant women and 100 traditional birth attendants on safe birthing methods in 30 communities across Abuja, Nasarawa, and Kano states.

Founder, Mobaby Care Nigeria, Maryam Adebola-Salami, disclosed that collaborating with Access Bank’s fully funded project revealed the need for more women to get involved in safe birthing processes.

She said, “The risk of maternal and infant disease and death can be decreased by reducing delivery-related complications, increasing access to high-quality health care (like training received by local midwives) and promoting and supporting breastfeeding and safe birthing environments.
