Mob sets bike ‘thief’ ablaze

A suspected motorcycle thief has been burnt to death by a mob in Gawu village in Kwaku Ward in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.

A witness said the incident happened on Sunday around 5pm after the victim allegedly stole a motorcycle in the village market.

He said that the suspect and his accomplice (at large) went to a drinking joint and removed a motorcycle where it was parked and zoomed off, adding that the owner, who sighted them, raised the alarm.

He further said, “After the owner raised the alarm, a mob chased them and one of them was apprehended and set ablaze while the other escaped.”

The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, could not be reached for comment on the incident.
