Mob sets bandit’s corpse ablaze in Kaduna

A corpse suspected to be that of bandit has been set ablaze by a mob in Kuchimi village in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State.

A resident, Sa’adu, said the incident happened on Tuesday around 5pm when some people from the village and neighbouring Wolijo village mobilised and set the corpse ablaze.

He said the corpse was found by some hunters in a forest.

City & Crime also learnt that several rustled cows were recovered from bandits during a raid on some of their camps in the Azzara Forest in Kachia LGA.

A community leader, who spoke with our reporter through telephone on Thursday, said soldiers engaged the rustlers, forcing them to abandon the cows.

A vigilante, simply identified as Shehu, confirmed the recovery of the rustled cows.

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to react on the incident.
