A mob has reportedly lynched to death a suspected motorcycle thief at the Otukpo main roundabout in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
Witnesses alleged that the suspect on Tuesday afternoon dispossessed a commercial motorcyclist of his bike and fled with it towards Otukpo – Enugu highway.
The witnesses said some angry motorcyclists in solidarity with their colleague pursued the suspected thief up to the Otukpo town roundabout where he was caught and held down.
He (the suspect) was allegedly beaten to a pulp before the mob set him ablaze after the stolen bike was recovered from him.

Spokeswoman of the Benue State Police, SP. Catherine Anene told journalists that she was yet to receive the information about the incident.
“No, please, this information is not received by the command,” Anene said.
