A man, identified simply as James, narrowly escaped being lynched on Wednesday for allegedly stealing another man’s manhood in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
City & Crime had reported that last week, a similar incident occurred when a bus driver was arrested in Abaji Area Council for “stealing a manhood” after he was said to have shook hands with the “victim”.
The Gwagwalada incident, our reporter learnt, happened around 9am at the popular Wazobia Motor Park along the Abuja-Lokoja expressway.
A witness, Josiah Gabriel, said the suspect, who pretended to be a traveller, shook hands with another passenger in the park and that after some time the victim raised alarm that his manhood had disappeared.
Gabriel further said, “When the passenger raised alarm, some people went after the man who shook hands with him and started beating him.”
Our reporter observed as policemen and a soldier tried to rescue the suspect from the mob while some passersby rushed to the scene using their phones to record.
The suspect was later questioned by the police after the victim was rushed to a hospital.
There was no response from the spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, about the incident.
