Nigerian filmmaker Mo Abudu has revealed her new position as the Guest Programmer at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles in anticipation of the 96th Academy Awards.
In this role, she will curate and host a series of screenings featuring movies under the theme “Echoes of Africa”. This collection aims to explore African experiences, triumphs, dreams and realities through a compelling lineup of films, presented in collaboration with the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP).

Abudu stated, “Echoes of Africa offers a vibrant tapestry of African perspectives, encapsulating the enduring impact of its cinema.”
She emphasized that the experience serves as a crucial means of engaging with the African narrative, expressing, “Prepare for a captivating cinematic journey that ensures you’ll be moved, enlightened and deeply connected to the vibrant essence of Africa.”
