The Police in Benue State have said that the missing police man after an attack launched against its troop on Saturday at Yogbo community of Guma Local Government Area of Benue State has been found.
Daily Trust reported that one police man was killed while another resident of the Yogbo area felled during a gun battle between the troops and alleged attackers.
State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, told newsmen in Makurdi that the officer who was being searched for returned hale and hearty and had even joined his colleagues at his primary duty post.
Owoseni said that Mopol units from 15 other states had been deployed to support the ongoing operations in Benue state while an additional deployment of police special forces well trained by the military in the aspect of counter terrorism among others are also in the state.
The commissioner added that a lot of grounds occupied by the attackers had been recovered with several of those areas liberated by police who flushed out the armed elements.
