Umar Faruk Musa, Member, Nigerian Youth Parliament from Kano South Senatorial District, has commended the Hijab-wearing model, Miss Shatu Garko, over her emergence as winner of the “Miss Nigeria Pageant”, 2021.
Daily Trust had reported how the teenager won the competition which held in Lagos State on Friday night.

In a statement, Musa described her as the pride of Kano.
“With delight in our hearts did we welcome one of our own, thorough bred Kano South Youth, Miss Shatu Garko on her emergence as “Miss Nigeria Peagent 2021″ at the competition held in Lagos on Friday night.”
“Despite being the youngest, Garko beat other contestants to become the first Hijab model to clinch the 44th Miss Nigeria Crown.
“Miss Shatu Garko has done the entire Kano State, Kano South and Kano Youths proud as she beams to the world the beauty of Kano and we are proud to celebrate her on this auspicious occasion.
“You’re indeed a portrait of beauty and perseverance on stage, and gave the pageant your best. With or without the crown, you already have won the hearts of many of Kano Youths.
“Your victory is one of the positives to come out of region amid the high level of insecurity bedevilling us. I urge you, Miss Shatu Garko to use your position as Miss Nigeria to admonish for a secureNorth and other issues towards advancing women cause in the country.”
