Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators have resolved to zone the office of Senate Minority Leader to the North Central geo-political zone.
The office became vacant after the Court of Appeal sacked the former Minority Leader, Senator Simon Mwadkwon (Plateau).
The appellate court also removed Darlington Nwokocha, the Senate minority whip, (LP, Abia Central) and declared Augustine Akobundu of the PDP as the authentic winner of the 25 February election in the senatorial district.
The PDP lawmakers yesterday held a meeting at the National Assembly complex Abuja on the replacement for the principal positions.

In attendance at the meeting were Senators Aminu Tambuwal, Abdul Ningi, Natasha Akpoti — Uduaghan, Abba Morro, Hassan Dankwabbo, Francis Fadahunsi Osita Ngwu, Ned Nwoko, Adamu Aliero, amongst others.
