The much anticipated Minna international polo festival earlier scheduled for June 15 has been shifted forward to July, Polo Royals can disclose. This was confirmed by the Management of the Minna Polo Club in Minna.
Polo Royals gathered that the shift by the Minna polo authority of its premium polo fiesta to July was necessitated by the need to put all logistics in place for the prestigious event that remains the biggest tourism attraction to the capacity of the state since its inception over thirty years ago.
Minna polo Captain, Jamilu Kings who confirmed this on phone, stated that the shift would give the club enough time to adequately prime the turf of the IBB Polo Ground venue of the event and put other logistics to required standard that befits high standard of the prestigious fiesta.
“We have also communicated the decision of the management committee to the polo ruling body, the Nigeria Polo Federation, all the visiting teams and our invited guests. They have all shown great understanding and reiterated their commitment to be part of our tournament next month,” King declared on phone.
With the Minna grand slam on hold, the exciting national polo tour moves on to the ancient Kingdom of Keffi in Nassarawa State, for the 2021 edition of the glamorous Keffi Polo Ranch tournament that blasts off June 21-28 with over twenty teams from across the country participating.
