Ministry donates 116 trailers of grains as COVID-19 palliative

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has donated 116 trailer loads of assorted grains to the Bauchi State government as palliatives meant for vulnerable persons affected by the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Minister, Sadiya Umar Farouk, who disclosed this on Saturday in Bauchi, said the assorted grains from the National Food Reserve, was approved as palliative for distribution to vulnerable persons in the state.

Among the items donated maize, millet and sorghum.

Responding, Bauchi State Deputy Governor, who doubles as the Chairman, State Taskforce Response Committee on COVID-19, Senator Baba Tela, thanked the federal government for the gesture and pledged judicious distribution of the palliatives to vulnerable people in the state.
