The Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (Rtd) has expressed satisfaction with how the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) is moving with the dynamics of time in terms of technology and infrastructure.
Speaking during the commissioning of projects at the permanent site of the NDA in Kaduna, the minister recalled that when he was a cadet, the naval facilities at the academy were not more than four-bedroom bungalow.
He, therefore, urged the academy to continue with the tempo, saying as society was dynamic, so must infrastructural and technological developments move with time.
He added that, “we will follow the design of the operation of the ministry, and the operation of our major assignment as to the defence of the country and internal affairs of the country if we are so needed during my tenure, because I am in charge.”
The projects commissioned included a 200-bed accommodation for cadets, two blocks of four-bedroom Master Warrant Officers (MWO) accommodation, six units of three-bedroom Staff-Sergeants accommodation, eight units of two-bedroom Corporals accommodation, two blocks of 12 units of one-bedroom accommodation for other Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), the Protestant Church and the NDA Central Mosque.
