Minimum wage: Kwara doctors distance selves from labour strike

The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Kwara state chapter, has distanced itself from the nationwide strike called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) tomorrow.

The state Chairman of the association, Dr. Mohammed Kolade-Solagberu, said this in an interview with our correspondent in Ilorin on Monday.

It will be recalled that the organised labour plans to hold an indefinite strike across the country to press for a new minimum wage of N30,000.

Dr. Solagberu, however, said the state chapter of the NMA would not join the strike.

He said his members would be at their duty posts to render necessary medical services to the people.

“Medical doctors in the state will be at their duty posts if the strike will hold,” he said.
