Mimiko signs 2014 budget into law

Mimiko  said all hands must be on deck by relevant agencies to improve on Inter-nally Generated Revenue (IGR). The Appropriation Law tagged: ‘Caring Heart Budget V’ which the governor said was geared towards the sustenance of all laudable programmes of the administration, is made up of N71.9bn as recurrent expenditure and N96.05 bn as capital expenditure.
Mimiko said the admi-nistration would use a two-pronged approach of substantially expanding the economic base of the state through involvement in infrastructure.
He said the other leg is to continue with the provision of social assets that would protect the most vulnerable in society by ensuring adequate social safety nets through programmes like the Abiye Safe Motherhood project,  mother and child hospitals.
