The Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, has handed over a rescued Chibok girl and 332 other individuals to the Borno State government for rehabilitation.
The 332 individuals, including 110 women and 220 children, were rescued from the Bama-Pulka axis during a clearance operation in Sambisa Forest.
At a presentation on Monday at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Maj-Gen. Waheed Shuaibu, said 27-year-old Ehi Abdul, who is three months pregnant, was rescued on June 23, 2024, along with her two children in Sambisa Forest.
Ehi, listed as number 67 among the kidnapped Chibok girls from April 14, 2014, had been married to two husbands, including Abu Darda, in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

Shuaibu explained that Ehi Abdul was reunited with her two children during the rescue operation.
He said the rescued individuals were handed over to the Borno State government for further profiling and rehabilitation at the Bulumkutu Rehabilitation Centre (BRC) in Maiduguri.
Navy Captain Mohammed Abdulai disclosed that the rescued children would be vaccinated against the six deadly diseases, including cholera and polio, at the rehabilitation centre.
The Director of Social Welfare in the state’s Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha Shettima, thanked the military for rescuing the 333 captives and urged them to continue using non-kinetic approaches to rescue the remaining captives in the forest.
She assured that the rescued victims would receive psychosocial support, including education for the children and vocational training for the women.
