Owing to the importance attached to the match, the Blues manager has included in his team, most of the key players who ensured Chelsea beat rivals Manchester United to the Premiership title last season.
He is going to have the full complement of his stars which include Hilario; Paulo Ferreira, John Terry, Branislav Ivanovic, Ashley Cole; Michael Essien, John Obi Mikel, Frank Lampard; Salomon Kalou, Nicolas Anelka, Florent Malouda.
Ancelotti said: “After a fantastic season it was very difficult to change this squad. We could repeat it this year with these players,” Italian Ancelotti told the club website (www.chelseafc.com) on Friday.
“We want to do our best—Manchester United could be the most important opponent this season, like they were last season,” he said.
United’s Ferguson on the other hand will miss the services of Michael Carrick who limped off last Wednesday after spending half an hour against the League of Ireland X1 but will give Wayne Rooney the opportunity to redeem his image following a poor showing at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
