Youths in the Middle Belt Region have backed the positions of the Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF) on the zoning of 2023 Presidency and the issue of the Value Added Tax (VAT).

The Southern Governors Forum had demanded that the next president must come from the South and also agitating for the collection of Value Added Tax (VAT) by states.

Their positions were opposed by their northern counterparts at their meeting on Monday in Kaduna.

However, the youths under the aegis of Middle Belt Youth Forum on Unity and Democracy supported the positions of their governors that the North could not be threatened to relinquish the Presidency to it.

Their position was contained in a communiqué signed by the coordinator of the group, Rev. Joshua Maiwa’azi, after a meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday.

The communiqué made available last night urged Plateau State Governor and Chairman of Northern Governors Forum, Simon Lalong, to remain steadfast in promoting and projecting the region as one indivisible, united and formidable front.
