MFM FC Lagos has moved away from the relegation zone in the 2021 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, season after they laboured to a 1-0 win over Nasarawa United in the Week 13 fixture played at the Agege Township Lagos.
Elijah Akanni’s solitary strike in the 52nd minute of the match was enough to hand the ‘Olukoya boys’ their fifth victory over Nasarawa United in seven contests.

The loss is also Nasarawa United’s fifth defeat in the ongoing NPFL season.
Their previous losses have been against Plateau United (0-1), Enyimba FC (1-2), Rivers United (0-2) and Jigawa Golden Stars (0-1).
While the victory has lifted MFM to 9th position on the table, Nasarawa United on their part missed the opportunity to take the 5th position from Akwa United.
Nasarawa United’s striker, Hassan Adamu in a telephone chat with Daily Trust rued the chances missed by his team.
“We created some chances which weren’t converted. Since it is needless to cry over spilt milk, we are moving on to the next match,” he said.
Nasarawa United’s next match is a home fixture against neighbours Lobi stars on March 7.
