Ahmed who is also the chairman of the judicial committee representing Ilorin South/ Ilorin East Constituency at National Assembly said in Ilorin while commenting on the defection of the state’s political top leaders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC) that it was as a result of wide spread impunity and lawlessness of the ruling party.
He said legally, any person can leave one party for another based on his purpose and explained that the defection was in the interest of the people would help in addressing the challenges confronting the state and the country in general.
“The decision made was in the best interest of the populace, avoiding hostility on national issues and also to ameliorate sufferings in the state and country at large for the benefit of all”, he said. He urged the people to support their leaders at all levels to develop the nation, remain focused as well as desist from division.
