About 44,000 children are expected to be vaccinated in the next three days as Katsina State flags off immunisation against Celebrospinal Meningitis.

The children are mostly those from different settlements in the five key local government areas of Batsari, Jibia, Batagarawa, Faskari and Funtua where the outbreak was endemic.

Flagging off the exercise at Barawa village in Batagarawa LGA, the Executive Chairman of the state primary health care development agency Dr. Maawuya Aliu, while conducting the state commissioner of Health Mariya Usman said children between the ages of two and14 were the most targeted during the exercise.

Earlier in an interview Aliu said Only 50,000 doses of the vaccines were available in the state out of the requested 500,000 needed for the vaccination.
