General Buhari said this while fielding questions from journalists shortly after delivering his goodwill message at an occasion marking what the movement called the First Electoral Reform Day in place of Democracy Day being marked by officialdom.

Buhari who expressed support for the movement, said: “We are assembling to form a mega party and definitely, real opposition to defeat the ruling party.”

He had in his goodwill remarks, associated with the celebration of Electoral Reform Day, adding that all Nigerians are anxiously waiting for the outcome of a stakeholders’ pre-summit on Electoral Reforms which ended yesterday.

The Chairman of the Mega Summit Movement’s secretariat, Chief Olu Falae,  in his speech at the occasion, said Nigeria will not attain true democracy until the present defective and non-transparent electoral system is overhauled.

Chief Falae said the movement resolved to mark the day because of the realisation that electoral reform will provide the basis for credible elections.

While endorsing the core ingredients of the Electoral Reforms Committee (ERC) report, he said the Group, with other stakeholders, will soon present a private Electoral Amendment Bill to the National Assembly.
