Alhaji Tasi’u Musa Maigari was last week unanimously elected as Speaker of Katsina state House of Assembly.
Maigari was selected to the post following the resignation of Abubakar Yahaya Kusada as speaker after his election as member of House of Representatives representing Ingawa/Kusada/Kankia Federal constituency.
The member representing Matazu Ibrahim Dikko put forward the nomination which was seconded by Sani Lawal from Baure Constituency and was unanimously agreed by the House.
The new Speaker was born on April 25, 1966 at Fuyuni village in Zango Local Government Area.
Maigari’s early educational pursuit began at Zango Primary school between 1973-1978. He moved to Sardauna Memorial College (SMC) in Kaduna from 1978 – 1983. He gained admission at Kaduna Polytechnic 1985- 1988 where he bagged a National Diploma.
He was a director at Fuyuni Company since 1988. Maigari loves reading, Travelling and sports.
Until his election as Speaker, Maigari was the House Committee chairman on Health. He is married with children.
