He enjoined Nigerians to report medication errors among healthcare professionals to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and other relevant health regulatory bodies.

He spoke in Abuja yesterday at a press briefing, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation, to mark this year’s World Patient Safety Day.
Ehanire, represented by the Director of Hospital Services, Adebimpe Adebiyi, said the government was working towards launching the National Policy and Strategy on Patient Safety and Quality of Care.
WHO Nigeria Representative, Walter Mulombo, represented by the Deputy Country Representative, Alex Chimbaru, said $42bn of total health expenditure worldwide could be averted if medication errors are addressed.
