A medical doctor, Dr. Murtala Sale Dandashire has sustained gunshot injury as bandits attacked the Kankara General Hospital in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to reliable sources, the injured doctor, who was shot in the leg, was receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical facility.
Daily Trust gathered that the attack occurred around 7:00pm on Tuesday, during which an unknown number of hospital staff were kidnapped.
A resident of the area, who pleaded anonymity, said the bandits stormed the hospital premises and started shooting sporadically, creating panic among staff and patients.

The spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, confirmed the attack to newsmen.
Aliyu, however, promised to provide more details about the incident as the Police Command was investigating the matter.
