Media Trust Integrity Award deserves national attention – Group CEO

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mounir Gwarzo, said the company’s Integrity Award should attract a national honour.

Gwarzo stated this in Abuja yesterday at the 12th edition and 2021 Long Service and Merit Award of the company held at its corporate head office, Abuja.

He also said that it was a thing of joy that the company built all its structures from its savings and without a single loan from any quarter.

He said: “I am very glad to be part of this occasion, and I want to start by congratulating long service awardees for the excellent job they have done, that has attracted these awards to you. It is your small efforts that have facilitated in bringing this company to where it is today.

“So, I want to also tell you that anytime we go out, I’m always proud to say that this building that we have was built from savings made by the company with no single loan, and that credit goes to all of you, particularly those that have been working in this company for quite a long time.

“Your efforts are being recognised and shall also be rewarded. I also want to congratulate the awardees for their excellence. It is not easy in this kind of environment to excel.

“Lastly, it is the award of integrity. I think awards like this should also attract a national honour for the kind of efforts these awardees have exhibited.”

Gwarzo appealed to all the employees of the company to continue to put in their efforts in order to ensure the company remains at the top.

“My only appeal to you is that you must also win that award. For those of us that didn’t win an award, it is a challenge to us, to make sure that we don’t see the same people next year,” he added.

Earlier, General Manager, Human Resource & Management Services of the company, Hajiya Hadiza Ibrahim Bala, commended the directors of the company for providing the staff the opportunity to be celebrated every year.

According to her, “In summary, when we say long service and merit awards’ ceremony, it is basically our own way of identifying the staff that have put in so many years in the service of this company.

“We have people that have spent 10 years, some have spent 15 years, and even some have spent 20 years, which means they are as old as when this company started.

“It is worth recognising and celebrating them today.”
