The Mayor of Urhoboland, Eshanakpe Israel, (a.k.a Akpodoro) has congratulated the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for emerging as winner of February 25 presidential election.
The president-elect came out victorious after a keenly contested presidential poll that took place over the weekend.
Mayor Akpodoro who is a Member, Community Support ( South-South) for Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, stated this in a congratulatory letter dated March 2 and personally signed by him.
He stressed that President Tinubu deservedly got the mandate of the Nigerian people having paid his dues in the politics of the country.
According to him, the congratulatory message was borne out of the need to show solidarity to a man who has seen it all in politics and have now been rewarded by the masses of the Nigerian people in their massive support and subsequent landslide victory to show gratitude for being the ‘pillar’ on which the politics of the nation rests.
The Mayor who doubles as the National Coordinator of the National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, NCNDE-A described the 2023 Presidential election as free, fair and credible “laden with immeasurable integrity” saying, the election reflects the will of the Nigerian people.
The mandate given to Asiwaju he noted is a pointer to the general acceptance of the new president having secured more than the mandatory 25% of votes cast in 2/3 of the states of the Nigerian federation.

He expressed hope that a Tinubu administration will bouy the economy and create employment owing to his capacity to crate wealth for the nation as he did in Lagos State during his tenure as the governor of the country’s commercial nerve Centre.
The Gbaregolor, Ughelli South Local Government Area,Delta State-born youth leader and founder of Urhobo Youth Forum for Change, UYFC commended the Yakuub-led electoral umpire for the successful transition to another administration saying, the verdict of history shall be kind to body of the electoral institution adding that, “Nigerians are happy for the journey thus far.”
He called on the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo to respect his age and steer clear of the 2023 politics lest he gets his finger burnt noting that his outburst midway into the collation of the Presidential election was unbecoming of an elder statesman.
He blamed Otta chicken farmer for what he described as rebellion against the state asking him to remember the issues that surrounded his imprisonment under General Ibrahim Abacha-led military regime.
He noted that Nigeria has grown beyond primordial sentiments and subtle instigation of violence by vested political interests as he called on the losers of the presidential election to be “gallant in defeat” by congratulating the winner.
