The management of Max Air limited has announced it’s readiness to commence domestic flights to all major Airports within the country in the next few days.
This was contained in a statement, signed by the company’s spokesman, Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru.
Receiving the 3rd aircraft earmarked for Max Air domestic operation at the Malam Aminu Kano Airport on Sunday, the Vice Chairman of the Company, Alhaji Bashir Mangal, said the Airline is putting final touches on arrangement to commence the operation.
"For now we are going to start with the three Boign 737 and as situation improves we will bring more aircraft in to the system to ease the hardship being encountered by air travellers in the country," Mangal said.
He said from inception in 2007, Max Air had been operating with seven wide bodied aircraft Boeing 747 concentrating mainly on the annual Hajj and Umrah operations in Nigeria.
He explained that the Airline had recruited competent hands including Pilots, Engineers, ground Staff and ground handlersinnorder to make its domestic operations effective nationwide.
He recalled that last week the airline had concluded the airlift of over 5,000 Umrah pilgrims to Saudi Arabia during Ramadan fasting period.
He said the airline was also expected to participate in the airlift of Nigerian pilgrims this year, just as it participated in the evacuation of pilgrims in the West African Sub-region in recent years.
