The American trio were stunned by Matsuyama, who started the day with three birdies and added six more in the back nine to all but secure his victory.
Zalatoris and List both finished with -14 while Cantlay was tied for fourth on -13 with American Xander Schauffele and Canada’s Adam Hadwin.
