The police in Lagos State have dragged a masquerade before an Isolo magistrates’ court, Lagos, for attacking a woman with a dagger.
The police identified the man behind the mask as 28-year-old Supiamu Abubakar and that he might have fallen in love with the woman without her knowing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Oje Uagbale, told the court that the accused, hiding behind a mask, attacked the woman for not paying him any attention.
The prosecutor said the attack took place on May 14, 2022, on Nelson Abido Street, Ajao Estate, Lagos.
He said, “My Lord, the accused masked himself and hiding under the cover of darkness attacked the lady with a dagger.
“This is a pure case of attempted murder, my lord. The accused stabbed the victim, Victoria, while putting on a mask. The victim sustained injury in the process.”
Aside the injury sustained during the attack, the police said the accused also damaged the woman’s phone.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. Kasumu, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to June 6, 2022.
