Mashi/Dutsi election: APC denies pressure on INEC

The Katsina State chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Shitu Shitu has denied allegation that the party was mounting pressure on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through the Presidency to win the coming Mashi/Dutsi bye-election.

Shitu told newsmen that the allegation was baseless and foolhardy, noting that APC believes in the rule of law and cannot and has never influenced INEC to favour it in any election.

According to him, the APC only needed 650 votes from the 15 poling units in the coming bye-election to retain its seat as against 8370 the PDP required to overturn the election.
