Comedian Mark Angel has tendered an apology to the public over a video of Emmanuella dancing in an outfit he called “inappropriate”.

Emmanuella, 13, caused a stir on the internet on Thursday when a video of her in a form-fitting black gown dancing to the song “Paper” by artiste Toye went viral.

X users, on the other hand, had differing opinions on the video. A lot of them said that Emmanuella was too young to be dancing in that manner.

Emmanuella’s guardian, Mark Angel, apologised for the video on his Instagram story in response to the worries raised about her.

According to him, Emmanuella took that particular dress from one of her older sisters without telling them and uploaded it on WhatsApp.

He said that Emmanuella only posted the video on her WhatsApp status, but was uploaded on TikTok without her permission by someone said to be a family friend.

“Dear friends and family, I would like to address a recent video that has been making the rounds on social media that involves my child, Emmanuella.

“Unfortunately, she posted the inappropriate clothing that belonged to one of her elder sisters on her WhatsApp status without our knowledge.

“We feel that an adult with a voracious appetite for views would have done the right thing and called to report the child’s behaviour, given that we consider her a family friend. Without thinking about the possibility that the child may have posted, she downloaded the video and uploaded it to her own tiktok account.

“She did this without considering that the child may have posted that video without fully understanding the consequences. The video was shared without my consent or the consent of her handler,” Mark Angel said.

He continued, “As a parent, I take full responsibility and truly apologize for any inconvenience or worry this may have caused.

“I’m addressing the situation with my child, emphasizing the importance of making responsible choices. Please understand that this was a mistake, and am taking steps to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Thank you for your understanding and support during this challenging time. Best, Mark Angel.”

Emmanuella became popular with her funny skits. She is known for her feature in the Mark Angel comedy series and is known for the comedy skit popularly known as ‘This is not my real face.’
