Marafa’s political tsunami against self

As I watched the recent video of Kabiru Marafa’s outburst against, obviously not the APC  Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Organising Committee, but the person of Mai Mala Buni, so many things kept crisscrossing the labyrinth of my consciousness. One, that idiom, ‘a bull in a china shop”. Two, that grade ‘A’ ignominious show by Godsday Orubebe.  Three, Hilary Clinton’s description of one of Trump’s speeches as “bizarre rants” and “pathological self-congratulations”.

As I sat motionless, ruminating on how he said what he said, threatening fire and brimstone, it dawned on me, the only persons deserving of those unbridled vituperations are those dare-devil armed bandits that have reduced his state to a theatre of massacres.

Unfortunately, I can’t recall any definitive assertive voice of Marafa against the bandits. Even if there has been, I believe not to this “earth-shattering-yet-inconsequential” level.

Now let’s face the reality of the whole saga. Marafa’s antics were before any other thing else, the compelling reason that midwifed Buni’s committee. Those irreconcilable differences between the elections in 2019 in Zamfara State. This is one state that has never ever wavered away from the party, from its legacy status of APP, through to ANPP and finally APC. That electoral misfortune and many other life-threatening upheavals that beset the party forced President Buhari to salvage the soul of the APC, a mission upheld and consolidated by Mai Mala Buni.

What sounds quite ironic and too revealing of the ego induced, self-centredness of Marafa in this latest outburst, is his assertion that Buni lacks the constitutional leverage to dissolve the exco of the Yari faction of the APC in the state. In other words, he is affirming legitimacy to the same faction he fought till he brought the party on its knees in the state.

Now he takes pride in him being an unyielding warrior of “pull everyone and everything down”, that he will give tenfold any trouble given unto him. Isn’t this “bizarre rants” and “pathological self-congratulations”?

Imagine his wish if he can have his way, all that achieved so far, ever since Mala came on board, be reduced to naught! Some guys truly have overdose of sadistic guts.

To the caretaker and extraordinary convention committee chairman, I believe nothing seems new, it’s tougher when the climax is within gaze. It’s about the final chance of their pull-down onslaught. They will spare no expense, but so shall you.
