No fewer than 10 people are said to have sustained injuries while a house and farm produce worth millions of naira were burnt during a clash between two rival groups in Doko town in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.
The residents said the clash was over land and resurfaced on Tuesday evening after lingering for decades.
The victims were said to have been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Bida for attention.
When contacted, the Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident.

He said atleast six persons were injured during the clash and valuable properties damaged.
“However, the police command swiftly responded and mobilised to the scene while 19 suspects were arrested in connection with the clash,” he said.
Residents called on the state government to, as matter of urgency, intervene in the series of lingering land disputes in the area to allow free farming activities, especially as the rainy season begins.
