The building, located closed to the Taraba State Polytechnic, Jalingo, is said to be owned by a popular building materials’ dealer.

Findings by Daily Trust Saturday revealed that lack of equipment hampered rescue operations as only locals were on the ground to assist.

Our correspondent reports that relatives of the victims took to the street to protest the incident.

Security was beefed up around the building as residents continued with rescue efforts.

The police spokesperson in the state, DSP Usman Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident, said three dead bodies were removed from the collapsed building so far, adding that many victims were still trapped at the time of filing this report.
