Manchester United have surprisingly added Wolves boss Nuno Santo to a list of potential Jose Mourinho successors, according to reports.
United boss Mourinho’s position has weakened at Old Trafford amid a torrid start to the new Premier League season.
The Red Devils, still reeling from an unproductive summer transfer window, already sit six points behind Liverpool at the summit after crushing defeats to Brighton and Tottenham.
Manchester United have insisted they have no plans to appoint another new manager in a massive Jose Mourinho boost.
However, German newspaper Sports Bild claim that Wolves boss Santo is another person in the running to take over at Old Trafford.
So far, it seems United have made Zinedine Zidane the No 1 choice to take over.
Yet Bild say Santo is also in the running. He is represented by Jorge Mendes, a man who has much influence at Old Trafford.
