Manchester United eager for transfer as Mourinho seeks face-to-face meeting with Ronaldo

Jose Mourinho wants to talk face-to-face with Cristiano Ronaldo about a return to Manchester United.

Premium Sport says Mourinho worked with the Portugal superstar at Real Madrid and is now keen on a stunning reunion at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo, 33, helped Madrid to a third straight Champions League title last month but is not happy with his contract situation at the club.

And Mourinho is ready to take advantage of being in Russia for the tournament.

At the World Cup on TV duty for Russia Today, he will make a personal approach to Ronaldo in a bid to convince him into a move back to England following his £80m 2009 exit for Spain.
