Manchester United have cooled plans to sign Odion Ighalo permanently or extend his loan beyond the end of May, as they want to see what happens with the continuation of the Premier League season.
That is according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Ighalo’s current loan contract – which sees United pay him £130,000-per-week, will expire on May 31, and United will have to make an offer to Shanghai Shenhua in order to extend it.
Though according to the Mail, United are not planning to do so, and want to wait and see what happens with the rest of the Premier League season.
Martinez on the radar
Manchester United are interested in signing Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, according to Spanish outlet SPORT.
SPORT also claimed Paris Saint-Germain are also in the race for the striker’s signature.
But Ed Woodward and co. are worried that the Argentine striker has his heart set on joining compatriot Lionel Messi at Barcelona.
They apparently believe that Barcelona are leading the way and can’t be caught unless something drastic changes.
The 22-year-old forward has been in top form, netting 12 times in 22 Serie A and five goals in six Champions League matches this season.
Martinez who joined Inter in June, 2018, has a contract which runs until June 2023.
