Manchester United failed to level with Manchester City at the top of the English Premier League (EPL) table after a dramatic 3-3 draw with Everton on Saturday night.
The Red Devils started the game on an impressive note and appeared poised for a crucial win over the Toffees with a 2-0 lead at half-time after one goal apiece from Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandes.
But Carlo Ancelotti’s staged a dramatic comeback in the second half with Doucoure and James Rodriguez scoring a goal each to go level with the hosts.
Scott McTominay restored United’s lead again on the 70th minute when he headed home a powerful cross from Luke Shaw. Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side seemed destined for victory after the goal.
But Dominic Calvert-Lewin dashed the Red Devils’ hope of getting three points with a goal at the stoppage time.
Earlier, Arsenal suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa which is a huge setback for Mikel Arteta side’s European hope.
Ollie Watkins’ scored the only goal of the game barely two minutes into the match but it proved enough as Aston Villa held on to historic victory over the visitors.
RESULTS:
Aston Villa 1: 0 Arsenal
Burnley 1: 1 Brighton
Newcastle 3: 2 Southampton
