A Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja has sentenced a middle aged man, Friday James, to death by hanging after he was found guilty of robbing N100,000 worth of jewellery.
James was said to have committed the offence on February 17, 2012 around 3 am at Ewegbemi Street, Meiran, Ajasa Command within Ikeja axis and was subsequently arrested.‎
The prosecution team led by Chief State Prosecutor, Akin George, ‎told the court that the convict robbed one Olanrewaju of her jewellery while also inflicting injuries on the head and hand of the husband of the victim through the use of machetes and guns.
In her ruling,  the presiding judge, Justice Atinuke Ipaye declared James guilty and sentenced him to death by hanging.
