A magistrates’ court sitting in Kano, on Monday, sentenced a 30-year-old man, Abdullahi Lawan, and Anas Murtala, 18, to five years’ imprisonment for having anal sex.
The convicts, who live at Kore village in Danbatta LGA, had pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and sodomy.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Miss Asma’u Ado, told the court that the two committed the offences on August 20 at Kore.
Miss Ado said that on the said date, at about 9pm, the two conspired and had anal sex with each other at a school in Kore, offences which contravene Sections 97 and 284 of the Penal Code.
The Magistrate, Mustapha Sa’ad Datti, sentenced the convicts to five years in prison each without option of fine.
