Man strangled at his residence in Bayelsa

A popular baker, Temple George, has been strangled at his residence at Opolo axis of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

According to a resident in the area, George’s body was found inside his apartment by his landlord early on Saturday morning.

Police in Bayelsa say investigation is ongoing to unravel the actual cause of George death.

Police spokesman in the state, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday, said, “Preliminary Investigation reveals that the body of the deceased was discovered by his landlord on 17 April, 2021, at his apartment at Opolo, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

“The scene was visited by Police detectives, and the corpse was removed to the Federal Medical Centre Mortuary for autopsy.

“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for proper Investigation,” he said.
