A magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has ordered the remand of a man, Olayiwola Ojo (25), in a correctional centre over alleged armed robbery.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that there was a probable cause to order the remand of the suspect who was reasonably suspected to have committed the offence of armed robbery on Pastor Adeyemi Ojo at about 11am on May 9, 2024, contrary to Section 1(2)(a) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provision) Act Cap. 398 LFN 2004.

Inspector Oriyomi told the court that there was a need for further investigation and that the duplicate case file had been sent to the DPP for advice.
The Magistrate, A. O. Owoleso, ordered the remand of the suspect and adjourned the case to August 6.
