Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have begun manhunt for a suspect Identified as Promise for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl to a coma.
It was gathered that the suspect raped the girl to a state of unconsciousness in Uwa area in Oredo LGA of the state.
It was also learnt that the suspect lured the minor into his room, raped and abandoned her in a state of unconsciousness and absconded.
The state police spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident.

He said the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Adesuwa Police Station, Benin City, received a report of defilement on March 27 from the mother of the victim, who resides along off Sapele road, Benin.
He said the woman reported that her 13-year- old daughter was raped to a state of unconsciousness by one Promise, whose surname was yet to be known.
He said the victim was rushed to Edo State Specialist Hospital for medical attention, adding that effort is on to arrest the fleeing suspect.
