A 14-year-old girl has been hospitalised following injuries sustained in the hands of her uncle, Ikechukwu Innocent, who subjected her to sexual abuse in Kubwa, a satellite town in Bwari Area Council of the FCT.
A source told City & Crime that the girl became very weak from the constant sexual abuse her uncle subjected her to.
When our reporter visited the victim’s house, they were reluctant to speak about the incident.
However, a neighbour, Hakeem Olagunju, said, “The man was caught on Sunday molesting his niece. There was electricity, so he played music and increased the volume while this was ongoing. The door wasn’t locked. He was caught in the act. I learnt he had been doing it for a long time.

“The girl was taken to a private hospital here in Kubwa, but was referred to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), Gwagwalada.”
Olagunju lamented that the matter had not been reported to the police.
Meanwhile, a medical doctor, Kuti Demilade Kehinde, while lamenting the rise in domestic violence and sexual abuse of girls despite efforts by government and rights groups to halt the menace, called for the immediate arrest of the perpetrator.
