Man kills friend, buries him at home

The police in Kogi State have arrested a man for killing his friend, Kehinde Ajayi, who disappeared from his house in the Felele area of Lokoja on July 24, this year.

It was gathered that the suspect killed Ajayi who just bought a Toyota Sienna.

The suspect, who is said to be into air condition repairs, was said to have lured Ajayi at about 10am with two other friends to a place to celebrate his new car and since then Ajayi was not seen.

A police source said, “Following the report of the victim’s disappearance by his  family to the police, one of his friends was arrested last week and he gave an information which led to the arrest of the prime suspect.’’

It was further gathered that after killing him, the suspect went away with the deceased’s new Sienna.

A source disclosed further that the suspect on Monday took policemen to his house at Felele-Lokoja where he buried the corpse of Ajayi.

City & Crime learnt that youths attacked the suspect’s house after the corpse was exhumed by the police.

The command’s spokesman, SP William Ayah, confirmed the incident, saying the corpse of the late Ajayi had been recovered and the suspect in police custody.

He added that the command was working hard to arrest other suspects.
