Man kills, buries own 70-year-old father in secret grave

A man in Anambra has been arrested for killing and secretly burying his 70-year-old father.

Chisom Ogum, 26, was arrested by a collaboration of police and vigilantes in Umuomaku Community in  Orumba South  local government area of Anambra State.

He is said to have hit his father with a shovel and buried him in a shallow grave in the forest.

A source said the man attempted to escape before he was apprehended and beaten by an angry mob, who forced him to exhume the corpse of his father.

The command spokesperson SP Haruna Mohamed said, “The suspect attempted to escape before he was apprehended and beaten to stupor by angry mob who equally forced him to exhume the corpse of his father from where he buried it.”

Detectives have been at the scene to take photographic evidence and the weapon has been taken as exhibit.
